A walk in the woods.
A very good friend of mine once told me that my children must be the ” most photographed children ever “.
True ! I am fortunate to be a Mom of two beautiful daughters who are willing to pose for me, well most of the time.
We found this beautiful setting on the road to Pretoria and decided to come back for a photo session. I took only one prime lens with me, no reflectors to bounce off sunlight and no flash to fill in light. I decided to take all the shots from one spot and just asked my daughter to move around that same spot . . . . this is what I love about working with available light, you have to work with what you have.
We were blessed with a beautiful overcast sky, all the highlights were softened which made all the shadows darker, therefore providing the perfect backdrop for my youngest`s fair skin tone and gorgeous blonde hair.
I found it quite challenging to be constricted to one spot and not to move around my subject. You have to consider composition, the way the light falls on your subject, from which direction it falls and how this will influence your camera settings.
♥ A bit out of the ordinary . . . glimpses of an extraordinary girl. ♥
